Mr. Arthur Lee, MH, CLPe Head of Finance
Role
Executive Member
A finance and sustainability leader with over 30 years of experience driving growth, governance, and societal impact across leading organizations, including CLPe (part of CLP Group), CGN New Energy, Hutchison Ports, i-CABLE, Mirant, and Arthur Andersen. As Director of Finance and Risk Management at CLPe since June 2024, I oversee financial planning, investment analysis, and risk management for innovative initiatives, such as energy-as-a-service, e-mobility charger investments, and LNG Bunkering, advancing Hong Kong’s net-zero 2050 goals.
A career highlight was leading CGN New Energy’s landmark IPO in October 2014, raising over US$200 million with a 500-times oversubscription, showcasing my expertise in investor relations and strategic execution. As Assistant President and Company Secretary (2014–2024), I ensured robust governance for a 45,000-megawatt renewable energy portfolio across China and Korea, driving a 400% share price increase in 2021. I also orchestrated the sale of Meiya Power to CGN, delivering substantial returns for private equity shareholders.
A CFA Charterholder, FCCA, Chartered Secretary, Certified Internal Auditor and dual-trained in law (LLB, Manchester Metropolitan University, 2024; PRC Legal Qualification, 2021), I completed all ACCA professional exam papers through self-study, reflecting my commitment to discipline and continuous learning. I hold an MBA (Warwick), MCG (PolyU, top student), and BEng (CUHK). Honored with the HKSAR Medal of Honour and an HKBU Honorary Fellowship, I am committed to philanthropy through educational governance. As PolyU Council Member and Treasurer (2025–present), I guide financial strategies supporting research programs and academic innovation, enhancing educational excellence. Previously, as HKBU Council Member (6 years) and Audit Committee Chair, I shaped policies fostering academic advancement and community engagement. My 4-year role as Parent Representative at St. Teresa Secondary School’s Management Committee strengthened educational quality and community collaboration.
I have served as ACCA HK Chair (2015–2016), Youth Committee Chair of the Hong Kong Chinese Enterprises Association (2017–2019), and contribute as an HKSAR Election Committee and Ningxia CPPCC member. My work integrates ESG principles, blending finance, law, and philanthropy to drive sustainable impact. I welcome connections to collaborate on advancing sustainability, education, and governance in Hong Kong and beyond!
